[help] 99 camry xle radio/cd problem

The radio/CD on my 99 camry xle got the following strangle problem.
Every day, radio/cd works for about 30 mins and then the sound goes away (if turning sound to MAX, you can barely hear the music ).
the radio console appears to be functional after sound fades away.
I replaced the audio amp, but did not solve the issue.

what could the problem be? Any hints?
Thanks a lot.

Perhaps you crossed some wires or there is a short in the system? That would be my first two guesses

the head unit is probably just wore. Especially if its just a stock head unit. Something inside of it is heating up, causing it to work incorrectly.

If its aftermarket, it could be screwed up wiring

thanks for your reply.
my car has the original radio/cd unit on it. There use to be an additional aftermarket 6-cd changer in the trunk, which has stopped working for more than a year.
