This is a great forum.
My 96 Camry, with 210,000 miles, has been making a farting sound whenever I come to a stop sign. (At first, I always thought it was my wife.) It only happens at the last moment, just before the car comes to rest. I can also feel it in the brake pedal. The braking action seems fine and the pads are decent, so I didn't worry about it, but it is getting annoying.
I was crusing the Toyota Nation forums and found this post about what seems to tbe the same sound:
Rumble when braking hard...
Following the guidance from that post, I determined I do have a Bosch ABS system and so I disconnected the connector, as described in the referenced link.
What do you know? The fart was gone!
So, now I know there is a definate problem with the ABS system. Now the question is, what is the next step to fix it? Is there something I can do? I don't really want to disconnect it. I am tool handy, at least enough to be dangerous.
Thanks!
