3rd Generation It makes me wonder what people do with there cars!

I got a 92 Camry V6 from a friend for free. As i was going though every thing i noticed some funny things that i cant figure out.

1) the reverse lights dont come one. there is power and the bulbs are new.
2) when i hit the breaks the reverse light on the dash comes on.
3) the left lug nuts come loss all the time.

i want to fix all of this so that it can be my daily driver or so that i can sell it to put more money into my other car.

any help will be helpful.

I had an issue with the reverse lights intermittantly not coming on on my old Camry. Turned about to be the connection on the gauge cluster behind the gear selection lights. I fail to see how those could have any correlation, but it fixed the issue.

The loose lug nut could mean you need either a new hub, new wheel, or new lug nuts. I'd say the studs are worn out on the hub.

As for the reverse light coming on when you hit the brakes, I'd say you have a short somewhere near the brake switch. Check to make sure you have no wires grounding out back there.

The wiring harness for the reverse lights tends to be too short in early gen 3s, so after enough opening/closing from the trunk lid one or more of the wires back there will break. Splice in an extension or two and you should be fine. What torque are the lug nuts at when you tighten them up again? Have you checked your torque wrench for accuracy?
