Key not smoothly going into igntion lock cyl

Turns fine, when its in. Getting the tip of key in is the problem.

put a little oil in and on key, helped some, but dont think it will last long. Key looks in good shape.

Whats the procedure for replacement, or a good link???

thanks

1997 V6 LE

Are you talking door, trunk, or ignition?

Getting just the tip in can be a pain in the ass. Have you tried any type of lubricant (besides oil, like graphite)
For real, though... Which lock, as the r/r procedure will vary.

-the title mentions ignition lock!
-I would try the graphite
-does it happen the same for each key
-any time you are working near airbags pull the neg battery cable off and wait 10 minutes or so.
-I have not changed a lock cylinder on a camry but I have on a few other cars, most of them are similar. you take the steering wheel cover off to expose the lock. put the key in and turn it. when you turn it a pin or ball should show up in a hole and you push that in and pull out the cylinder. you will need to know if you have a transponder!

I had that problem and I just got new keys and it went away. That might work for you. Tried graphite and it didn't help.
