'92 camry fuel door troubles - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

a few days back, I popped my gas cover to pump some gas in my '92 camry and the door wouldn't open all the way. so I closed it and popped it again. it still wouldn't open all the way so I got fed up and yanked it, which in retrospect was probably not a good idea. the door snapped off and I'm not really sure how to fix it or replace it. I think the little arm/spring thing that the door is attached to was rusty or faulty. there aren't any parts missing from that area and I still have the cover. anyone know whats up and are there any diy fixes for this?

This happens fairly often on our cars now that they are ~15-20 years old. My advice would be to go to a junkyard or buy one off of eBay. I'm not sure if there is a good way to glue / fix a broken one.
