DIY: 1MZ Coil Pack Connector Replacement

well now after having some mad ignition issues i FINALLY cared enough to find replacements for the connectors.

yup there we go the part number, no more toyota saying you need a whole new harness.

now to wait till the parts depo opens and order them and write the diy or trash this thread

but so far looks like a direct drop in

I would never replace the whole harness, because of some bad connector
The only time I had to do it was when I discovered a HUGE chunk of harness missing between sockets behind passenger side kick panel and the ABS module (plus lots of hotwiring in other places like alternator, ac compressor and lights) on my V6 right after purchase ...

I think pmesfun was replacing them on his '99 avalon (1mz) too, could have been different part numbers for his though.

it was somewhere in this thread, first he replaced all ignition coils, then I think he replaced connectors for them:
1mz-fe, Starts then dies.

Yeah same part number, 90980-11246. All I needed was a small eyeglass screw driver. Pop out the frame thing inside the connector, then push down on the two prong things and they slide right out.

These are the old ones.

niiiiiiice, well i'm doing the walnut removal on mine since they are so rotted
