99 Camry, hesitation after start

Problem: 99 4cyl Camry, 194k, automatic. At random the vehicle will falter and hesitate during slow speed accelleration after the sitting for over 6 hours. It feels like an engine that has just been press washed and is burning off moisture. No oil press light evident during the falter. Down the road it runs smooth, no apparent problems other than some transmission slip. It will not generally occur again until the next shutdown/restart cycle. I've run some fuel system cleaners through it with no real change. I have new plugs and wires inbound, air filter is new. Looking at the fuel filter as suspect but looking at remote possibility of internal headgasket leak (oil is good, coolant good, no smoke trail) or a transmission issue.
Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Start with the basics. With the mileage on your car chances are your throttle body and idle air control valve need a thorough cleaning. Here's a good DIY on how to do it on your 4 cylinder 5SFe engine:

Be sure to spray the cleaner liberally in to the port shown in the picture that leads to the idle air control valve where your problem may exist. Let the cleaner soak while you go on to clean the rest of the throttle body. Many times this cures the problems you are experiencing.
