4th Generation Greenish tinge on instrument panel STILL after while LED install?

so I've been wasting money on higher and higher power LEDs for drop ins for my 194 instrument panel backlights lighting, and the green tinge still persists.

It's less noticeable now that I installed higher power white LEDs, but it's still there and kinda bugs me. does anyone know how I can get rid of this greenish tinge? is there a seventh bulb I forgot about or something? I replaced six 194 bulbs with white LED ones in my 2000 Camry LE.

Do I have to buy a new cluster or something?

I dunno on these ones but some clusters have colored plastic diffusers inside, independent of the bulbs.

Might be something to look into?

There's no diffuser, I replaced my green stock bulbs with white LED's and it looks fine. That's odd, man.

I hope they don't. i really hate that pale/sick-ish looking green. you're probably right though.

do you have a 2000 Camry too?

this stinks though. the white LEDs are pure white and very bright of course, so I know it's not the LEDs causing it by potentially being off-color.

i was thinking perhaps because it's 2011 and the old bulbs with the green 'wrap' had been on there for ~11 years that perhaps it stained it in some way with the green light? is that even possible?

I have a 97, which uses the same gauge cluster. I don't think it's possible for the light to stain green onto the plastic...

Ah man, I was thinking it was impossible for the light to stain it but ugh.

so what are my options? I want this thing white without the tinge.

can I replace the speedometer, etc. labels/circles? should that fix it?

I got around to fixing my dashboard today.

I also have the greenish tint when replacing the green condom bulbs with brand new white LEDs.

I put a photo in the what did you do thread but here it is too:

I figured the PRND2L had a plastic green cover too, since my red LEDs weren't showing, except for the reverse.. I thought it was me putting the LEDs in wrong but I did find a plastic cover. So I am positive there is something else covering the whole dashboard too.

I will be finding it tomorrow, and I will report back then.

If you want to replace the gauge lights, you buy #194.

If you want to replace the little lights, such as check engine, turn signal, PRDN2L, key light etc., you buy #74. I didn't buy the SMD ones for #74 because they were small icons.

Some people prefer to buy off SuperBrightLEDSs but I've been doing fine with the Hong Kong lights lol...saves $$$ too.

My guess is the green tinge is light reflected from the green circuit board.

Oooo...this would be interesting but I do not think it is. I will keep this in mind though.

What kind of LEDs did you install Crash and Gucci? Mine were the ones that I posted for the guy who asked.

A little off topic but does anyone know where I can find the clear plastic piece that goes over the PRDN2L display? Mine is worn and smudged! Also, I've bought LEDs from SuperBright.com from their website and they are great!
