4th Gen Alarm ?s

Ok, so...

2000 CE 5spd. No remote key...

Last week, I go to put my key in the door to unlock it, open the door and the alarm starts going off....

My thought process is to put the key in the ignition and start the car... but the car won't start when the alarm is going off... It just turns on.

So I'm sitting there like WTF?

I'm not sure if the alarm went off by itself, or the fact that I kept pushing the little red button to the left of the steering column like a n00b in panic mode, because at this point everyone in the parking lot is staring at me...

"Look at this idiot who can't shut off his alarm" lol.

So I started my car, and I pushed the red button (not sure what it really is... From what I've read, its the alarm sensor) so it isn't depressed therefore turning it off...

And the same thing happened again yesterday...

Any ideas?

SecuriKey Manual

I have a PDF file of the SecuriKey Manual ... 1998 version.
If you want a copy, PM me your email and I will send it.

PDF Securikey file was sent.

When I got the car ... 4 years ago, the alarm would go off occasionally without any reason.
Apparently it was some sort of alarm sensitivity setting. I had to take the car to the dealer and pay about $100 just to get the sensitivity adjustment corrected.

So, it looks like there are certain parameters that might be dealer only items ... just my guess.
