power window won't stop

My power window won't stop. When I press the switch to close the window, it won't stop when it hits the top. It keeps hitting the top again and again. The motor is working fine. Any ideas?

The wiring diagram shows that the front left hand window is controlled internally by the Power Window Master Switch ... located in the left front door.

The design is such that current flows to the motor only when the switch is pushed.

You might locate an extra PWMS at a salvage yard and see if you still have the problem.

... It might be a good idea to inspect the door wiring, keeping an eye out for clean electrical connections, no obvious corrosion bare spots on wiring, or possible contaminants that would interfere with wiring and connectors .... i.e. spilled beverages.

Probably the easiest thing to try first would be to get a spray can of plastic-safe electrical contact cleaner. Liberally spray the window door switch, while operating the switch paddles.
