replacing suspension and timing parts in '96 5SFE

Hi All,

My recently bought 3rd gen feels crappy suspension wise and there are some audible and terrible sounds coming up from the suspension on bumps too. What's your recommendation on replacing suspension parts? Ebay? Rockauto? Is there any manufacturer's parts to go for especially? I'm thinking on buying all the suspension parts available? Or is it any better to replace just the defective ones? I noticed my camry has developed symptoms in all 4 corners. What parts could be considered as "geniue" parts? As for the timing parts, what's to go for? Aisin pump and gaskets?
Of course I'd like to have them to last for ages for the most reasonable price. Car is a 96, 3rd gen 5S-FE sedan, European, LHD model. Rockauto show no real difference in suspension parts, I think there are not any, are you aware of any differences? Thanks for any information!

Cheers

steve

for struts i prefer tokico blues. you can get them online and they are readily available on ebay. the strut mounts i prefer are the oem units or kyb mounts. both work very well. i would recommend replacing all four struts together.

the rear lateral control rods's bushings tend to fail on higher mileage Camrys and should be replaced together. there are four total and they are, to my knowledge, only available from the dealer. you will want the hardware as well if you have heavy rust on the arms.

timing parts, you can go through and get whatever brand you trust. i prefer the oem parts..but with any oem part you're gonna pay a high price. definatly worth it in quality and reliability.

Many thanks!
Actually my struts seem ok. As if all the bushings were gone however.
Rear of the car is floating on bad surfaces.. Will check availability all over..

if the rear is floating and wandering, and the struts are good, that is evidence of faulty rear lateral control rods. i have the part numbers from the dealer if you'd like them.
