Strange busines with my sparkplug wires...

Trying to figure out what happened to my sparkplug wires...

The car ran fine... i parked overnight... started up next day and noticed it sounded like it wasn't running on all cylinders...almost stalling. Opened up the hood and saw this...

Two cables are cut of and a bit of the rubber of the one conection is missing.

It looks like a squirrel bit it of, the other option i can imagine is that someone knows how to open the hood and tried to steal my sparkplug wires in the night but they fell apart as he was trying to pull them of.

There are signs of dryrot, these are NAPA cables and about half a year old...

I'm sure that the local SPCA and some lawyer representing the squirrel/cat/rat/racoon that got injured while trying to liberate yer spark plug wires will show up with a letter demanding compensation cause the pest got hurt. Hope you git a good lawyer...

Look carefully at the wires and you might see some teeth marks. Do you keep yer car unlocked at night? Have you pissed off anyone at work or in the neighborhood?

.

Rodent damage. If you pissed someone off don't you think they would do something easier and more damaging.

Looks like rodent damage to me. I would look carefully at other electrical wires in the engine compartment and also check all vacuum lines. I once had some rodent eat the wiring to both my O2 sensors, half the hood pad, and the lines to the windshield squirters under the hood. About $500 damage back in 1994. Insurance company got a big kick out of that claim.
