3rd Generation 5spd shifter

hey guys so i got a 5spd and the shifter is very loose :$ it dosnt really bother me that much but it just moves all over the place im wondering if it was the cables but ive already been through 3 different cables so far .basically if i put the car in 1st gear it looks like its in 3rd and 2nd looks like 4th 5th looks like 3rd revers looks like 4th ..... plz any help thx . also i got a t28 sunny gti-r turbo wondering if i can work on the 3vz fe . .. thx guys

so what your saying is your shifter looks something like mine?


have you tried new cables? my only other solution is and it worked for another member on here is to buy a short shifter. it seems to tighten up the slack in the cables and the problem should be gone.

yeah yo mines doing that exact same thing . new cables in tdot are $975 -_-
ima try the 4cyl shifter assembly nd see if that helps .

i would replace the bushings where the shifter cables connect to the trans. brass bushings work very well and are readily available. that or possibly the cables have stretched. unlikely but possible. bushings at the shifter and the trans would really improve the feel.

Already have the bushings. I assume the cables have stretched. They've been through a lot.
