3rd Generation Helga the Honey Badger repair thread

So originally this was just about my mirrors, but my wagon has many issues and I don't want to clog up the forum to much, so I'm just putting it all in one thread.

This is my passenger side mirror, and I fear it will soon fall off. It vibrates and rattles quite a bit while driving, and I would like to secure it, while keeping the stock look (no wood screws.... I've seen it done). I don't need to take the mirror off as the electronics work well, it's just the casing that's the issue here. If anyone has any advice I'm all ears here.

Hmmm. Can't tell from the photo -- has part of the mirror mount pulled away from the part still attached to the door? There are three captive bolts on the mirror that are attached with nuts on the other side of the door...I don't see a captive bolt, so it's either broken loose from the mirror, or the part that it's attached to is still attached to the door and the rest of the mirror has pulled away from it.

Upshot, I'm thinking the main part of the mirror has broken loose from the mounting plate, and some epoxy could be put to good use here.

If you have some good lighting and a camera with macro (close-up) capability, a look into that area at the front of the mirror & mounting plate might make things more obvious.

Alright, I'll see what I can scratch up. There is a plastic piece that is broken, but I can't quite see what it is.

So my wagon has it's check engine light on, but I'm not sure how to check it. I don't have an exhaust right now, so I know that's one issue. We took it off when we dropped the tank and it was so rusted there wasn't a point to putting it back on until I get new pipes. Also during the tank drop my vent hose fell off and will one go back on. We messed up the flange that the hose attaches to (broke it really), any way I can fix without a new tank? And finally my engine seems to have decent power in first, but is crap in any other gear, any thoughts?
