3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So today I installed a magnaflow on the camry!!! It's everything I wanted and more! I can even feel the power, and the car can now rev up to 6100rpm, it used to only go up to 5800 then shift. (little bit of power makes a huge difference!)I was out all day enjoying it!
All-in-all, $194 for the muffler+install! Great dealing with magnaflowplus.com, and Andy's muffler shop in Snellville... Special thanks to them, they did an awesome job! Definitely will be back!
And Good-Ol Mister Magnaflow

Reason: title
What kind of Magnaflow is it ? Like whats the model ? I ended up going to a muffler show and they just put a crap one that makes noise on and I think its making my engine burn more gas. Thats what I get for being a noob :'(
im not sure about the power gains unless your stock muffler had disintigrated and was clogging your exhaust but you got a good muffler that im sure looks good. get some pics up so we can see. glad your happy with it.
Any performance gain you think you have is mostly in your head. You hear the neat growl and are a bit more aggressive. Why do you feel the need to rev so high? Max HP is at less than 5500rpm and max torque is at less than 4500RPM and doesn't it redline at about 5800?

May be in my head, but I love it... I feel I am getting a faster throttle response. I rev so high, because I've never really done it, and it feels good to do so, not like I drive like that all the time. It used to redline at 5800, but I got it to redline at 6100 after the install. (6100 is redline on the rpm gauge)... I understand all the power and torque is at lower rpm, but who the hell shifts at 4500rpm when they are driving fast?
Just a couple thoughts bud, stay cool!

Anyone who actually knows how to drive fast will work to keep their car in the powerband during spirited driving. Revving your engine all the way to redline isn't doing you or it any favors...
