Bought 97 LE ...Seat wont let up!

Ok finally pulled the trigger and bought a 97 LE with I4 with 149k on the dash, and seems to be consistent with carfax. Had it checked out, told everything from headlights, and radio to shifting of transmission. Paid for car got the title, get in the car, and I cant let the drivers seat back up from reclined position. Its a manual seat. IS there a trick or something that usually jams or sticks i need to tinker with?

ITS NOT THE PRETTIEST CAMRY but hoping to ride it atleast 60-70k miles or until i get a decent bonus lol

Is the spring just missing or is it actually jammed? All I can say is check and lube the hinges and any other parts that move. Maybe while you're down there you'll find something out of place or damaged that prevents it from moving.

No trick to the seat.. That sucks that the seat doesn't work lol

Probably just broken. Replace it with another seat! I've seen this happen a few times.

Look for an exploded parts diagram at one of the online dealer's sites, to see if there are connections between what you're pressing and the latch. Connections that might be loose/broken, and possibly bypassed.
