Oil Light

I was driving yesterday evening and I noticed that the oil light came on. I pulled over and checked the oil and it seemed like it might be a little low, but not by much if at all. I went ahead and put in some oil and went home. The light stayed on. This morning I came out and the oil light came on again. Checked the oil and it seems normal. I had the oil pump replaced a few months ago and the temp is within normal range. Im guessing its the oil pressure gauge? Any thoughts on this?

Well, only way to know for certain is to unscrew the pressure sender (need a special socket) and stick a pressure gauge on there. Should be able to borrow one from a parts store, otherwise harbor freight carries a decent one.

It was the sensor. I took the connector off it and some oil came out. That made me feel like it didnt have a proper seal any longer. Bought another one for $25 and put it in.. no more light

Man I was expecting a blown engine to happen soon. Glad it was just the sender!
