Hey,
My shifter is really hard to push to the left. I was wondering if someone can help me solve this problem.
Pushing the shift lever left and right pushes the right cable down and up. This in turn forces the left cable right and left. (all directions are respect to the picture)
I took off the bushing on the right cable (as seen) and moved the bracket by my hand. It was easy to push the bracket up but hard to push down (at the pin where the right cable meets the bracket).
I then removed the bushing from the left cable and moved the bracket by hand again. It was easy to move the bracket both ways now.
With both bushings still disconnected, I went in the cabin and moved the shift lever back and forth and felt no unnaturally strong resistance.
The problem is that it is easy to push the left cable to the left but hard to push to the right. I think this resistance is comming from the top of the left cable where it meets the bracket that holds the cable to the transmission.
I would really like to fix this problem. My car is SO hard to drive cause its really hard for me to shift first and second.
Thanks a lot,
d
