I'm having the same problem, but I could load the DIY section. It seems to be happening more and more recently. I figured it was my setup running maybe an older version of FireFox. So I upgraded to the newer version, 5.01 and it got worse, much worse. I installed all of the latest versions of Flash, Quicktime, and updated all the add ins. Cleared the cache, blah, blah, and still had problems with pages loading.
If I went to the main section everything was fine. Then click on a link, and normally a new window would open, everything seemed to load, the top banner, the side bar, and the footer. But there was no messages, just a blank page. If I reloaded the page, the text would appear maybe 1/2 the time. If I closed out the browser it would work fine, then revert to the same behavior.
I downloaded Google Chrome and installed it. It seemed to solve the problem at first, but then the same thing happened. Click on a link, you get the header, the sidebar, the footer, but no text. Re-load the page and it works maybe one out of three times.
Since this is a recent happening, I went back to an image I made at the first of August. I let Windows update run, but didn't allow any flash updates, nor did I allow Adobe to update. I didn't allow Windows to update the Net Framework either. I uninstalled Quicktime and removed all references in the startup sequence using SysInternals Autoruns that referred to Adobe, Flash, Apple Quicktime and any automatic updates. I left McAfee alone.
Things are much better using the 8/1/11 image. Now the pages load as they should, and only occasionally does the text not display. But the problem has not gone away completely. The image that I restored had FireFox 3.56 which I had used with no problems since it came out in 7/09-12/09.
Unfortunately TN is the only site where this problem occurs. And I'm at a loss as to why. I'll poke around a bit more and see if I can come up with anything conclusive.
Maybe the tech people at TN can offer some suggestions as well.
