Almost dropped a 2.2L engine on my foot

So I'm at the nearby pick n pull salvage yard, searching for a gen4 dogbone motor mount and bracket to reduce my gen3 idle vibration, as well as looking for other things to help improve this car mechanically and aesthetically.

FINALLY I found one!...all others were already stripped when their engines were removed. The rubber looks like crap, but the bracket will atleast save me $32 at the dealer.

So with a ratchet I start unbolting the 2 mounting bolts (14mm?), little by little...almost there...BOOM!!! The engine fell about 12" to the ground. I felt something graze my shoe on the way down. Fortunately I was standing on a tire for leverage and my foot wasn't directly underneath any part of the engine.

So if you're ever in a pick n pull, grabbing a gen4 dogbone motor mount for your gen3 camry, please be sure to check if this is the only motor mount left on the car that's holding up the engine...

Wow, that is scary! I'm glad to hear that you are safe.

At least you got what you were looking for.

It scared the crap out of me when I realized what had just happened. And when I told my wife, she wanted to beat the crap out of me for being so careless. Lose-lose situation, lol.
