need to remove oil pan for oil pump?

hello.
I have a 99 2.2l camry.

I changed the timing belt and water pump at independent shop 30k miles ago without changing any seals.

Now it leaks from the timing cover so I am going to change every seal

My question is Can I reuse the old timing belt? or is it a bad idea?
(i am tight on budget)

according to the manual, I need to remove the oil pan and exhaust pipe to change oil pump seal and o ring.
Do I really have to remove the oil pan and exhaust pipe?

my
thank you

If it's clean, you certainly could reuse the timing belt, but I'm not quite sure why you'd want to -- timing belts are inexpensive, it's halfway through it's rated life and this way you wouldn't have to open it up again for another 60K. If it's heavily oil contaminated, I'd definitely change it out.

You can change out the oil pump rotor set (roughly $40 from dealer), oil pump o-ring, and pump shaft seal without having to drop the pan or mess with the exhaust. And that's what I'd recommend -- there's no reason to have to pull off the main oil pump housing unless you suspect something is wrong with the pump bypass.

EDIT: Thought you had a 96. Since you have a 99, I'd lean more towards reusing the belt, since you've got 60K left on it. Again, if it's heavily contaminated I'd change it out.

This is me a month ago.

I paid to have the timing belt/water pump done, but not the seals. Take solace in the fact you didn't overpay to have all the seals done, and you'll get a fantastic education in this important area of this car by doing them yourself.
