3rd Generation 1992 Alternator replacement

HI all. I have a 1992 camry, v6 3.0 and I'm trying to replace the alternator but I seem to be running into every possible problem. I know its supposed to be easy-ish: pivot bolt, adjusting lock bolt, adjusting bolt. My pivot bolt wont budge (I'm picking up PB Blaster this afternoon) and even when I loosen/remove the lock bolt and adjusting bolt the ac/alt belt stays tight and unmovable. What am I missing? Is there another tensioner? Or will the belt move when/if I get the pivot bolt free? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, the pivot bolt being tight will keep you from being able to move the alt. When I adjust belt tension, I try to shortcut and barely loosen it. I always have to go back and REALLY loosen it before it'll move.

Thanks for the encouragement. I used PB Blaster, the pivot bolt eventually loosened up and I got the belt off. The lower pulley seems to be the problem after all, its loose and is making a heck of a squealing noise. I'm stuck on how to remedy that situation.

Is it the pulley directly below the alternator?... that's the AC compressor. Could be the clutch is going bad, or could be the compressor itself. Hard to diagnose without taking it apart further.

There is a small idler pulley below the alternator, that one might be making the noise. Some people just take it off (maybe your car doesn't even have it) because it does not do much, if anything.
