Hey all! New to the forums but not to cars. I had a quick question. I want a set of halo lights for my 98 camry and found a halo install kit from AACstyles.com 's ebay store http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-...item1c088c5049
My question is this: does this only include the halo rings and I have to buy the projector bulbs separate? If so, that sounds like a ripoff to me for $200.
Any input is great!
Thanks,
Wes

If you have the stock headlights it will look really weird. The kit includes 4 halos yet you have only 2 headlight bulbs and they will be behind a flutes lens instead of a clear one.
I am not talking about clear as in not clean i mean clear as in not "fluted". The lens is "fluted" to direct the light to create the pattern. Try this, go to a hardware store and hold a pencil behind a piece of fluted glass and you will see the pencil is refracted. And your halos behind the lens of stock headlights will look disjointed and not very much like circular halos at all.
Oh yeah. I understand now. I didn't really know what the word fluted meant. New to this area of the cars. Thanks for the help. Do you know how much trouble it is or what has to be done for the 00-01 (gen 4.5) halo lights to fit in the 97-98? http://www.andysautosport.com/toyota...d00010237.html
Gee! You Gen4 guys really have some cool stuff to pick from!
I just did a set of halos on my Gen3, in the low beam ports. The halos are really a very easy part of any headlight retrofit. They will simply require a good old 12v power supply to activate them along with the supplied stuff. Here in Canada, I powered them off of my side light DRL circuit, which for some reason fires up along with the headlight DRL's. Anyway, that lets the halos come on in the daytime,(headlights off), and with the headlights on. That will be the only real complicated part of this. (when and how to turn them on) But first, or along with it you may want to order a set of clear lense headlights and matching sides, to put the good stuff into. Good source, Andy's supplied my DEPO lights, IMO, they are great. Your stuff is probably better, but these are my halos:

That's pretty cool. Could you put the pic in your gallery? It didn't show up :o
I think the Halo picture is showing up now, tried to put it in my galley, but the file size is too big.
Iovaykind: Your right about modding the lighting, now that I have some decent light coming from my DEPO's, I already want to crack them back open and do some detailing inside the DEPO's and around the projectors.
