Apparently my 2000 Camry is made in Japan......
VIN starts with JT2BG22.....
Went to the parts store to buy brakes and struts and they wanted to know if it was a Jap or Ammie car, had to drive back home and try to figure it out. From posts on this forum it looks like cars with a J starting the vin are usually Jap. They also wanted to know if the car had 14" or 15" wheels before they sold me brakes. Odd that that would make a difference. The car does have 15" wheels.
Anyway, I heard that the Jap cars are harder to get parts for, especially used parts because most parts cars laying around the states are American.
This thing also has two converters, one on the exhaust manifold and one on the exhaust under the drivers seat.
Oh well......
