high pitched sound when car hasn't been driven for a while
My 98 Camry always starts up quietly but I hear a high pitched sound about a minute after taking off in the mornings or when I haven't driven the car for a few hours. The first time I heard it, I thought the air conditioning fan was the culprit but I have now found out that it occurs when the A/C is off also. The sound isn't very loud and sounds kind of like a faint siren. The sound only lasts for about 30 seconds or less and never occurs again while driving. Since it only happens when the car hasn't been driven for a while and goes away so quickly, I am stumped. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this? I have a 98 Camry LE 4 cyl with about 105K miles. Thanks.
