Clunking/Rattling coming from the back axle ?

130k miles. Is this common? It def. feels like something is "dampened klunking" around somewhere in the bank. I don't even need to go over a large bump or pothole, just a slight change in the pavement will do it (like a pavement patch or slight crack) Hard to describe...

rear sway bar bushings? maybe rear sway bar end links or both all together? pretty common at 130k miles.

Ok, I'll watch a few videos, and then inspect mine and see if anything's obviously wrong. Thanks.

you would need to get the whole rear of the car off ground to replace either the RSB bushing or the sway end links. pretty easy to do if you have a jack (either compact 2t or big 3t) handy and some jack stands.

both bushing bolts and sway end link bolts are torqued down to 14ft-lbs (very little), only problem might be rust depending on your area.

for a local shop it should be a very easy job, probably a few minutes per side, but I don't know how much they charge per book.

I'm actually having the same problem, but in the front end of my gf's car. Please update once you figure things out!

I squatted down and grabbed the closest and most visible bar that attached to the wheels in the rear.
It was solid and not rattling.

I guess I'll have a shop look at it, but I'd love to see for myself.
These forums really motivate me to learn about cars.
The sway bar videos I saw made it look like child's play.

per your rear sway bar inspection - was the car on the ground? I don't think you can tell if the sway bushings are worn with the wheels on the ground..

The bushings in this rear '00 suspension are odd - still haven't been replaced -- so when it rains the change in response is like night and day nearly.
