high pitched sound
I hear a high pitched noise when I first start driving. The high pitched noise only occurs during the first minute or so of driving and it sounds kind of like a faint siren. It used to only happen when the car hadn't been driven for a while but now it happens about 80% of the time when I first start driving it. I initially thought the sound was coming from my air conditioning unit but I have found that it happens even when the A/C is off. The car has to be moving in order for it to make the sound which makes the diagnosis difficult. Does anyone have any idea what could cause a problem like this that only occurs when it is first driven? Could it be a problem with my brakes or perhaps one of the belts? I don't want to replace parts unnecessarily. My car is a 98 Camry LE with about 105K. Thanks.
