Question what can i do about this silly hose

Hi,

I have a pin-hole sized leak around the clamp area of one of the hoses for the cooling system (1995 5S-FE Automatic). Specifically, this hose attaches to the end of a metal water by-pass pipe, at the rear of the engine block, near the driver's side firewall. The pipe has a small arm offshoot with a hose attached to the IAC valve, but my leak is in the larger diameter hose that attaches to the true end of the pipe. I believe it is water return from the heater.

I was doing some work, trying to start tackling my weepy cooling system. This connection (hose to pipe) was filthy and gross, so I cleaned it up and reclamped. I should have just let it be for now and not touched it till I had a new hose. Now when the system is under pressure its got this pinhole whizzing out the side.

It being Labor Day, I don't think I will be able to run out and find this part anywhere. I might be able to get regular plain cooling line hose though. Would this work? I hope to at least get a semi-reliable temporary fix on it today.

If this will work, does anyone know what the inner diameter of the hose should be? I should have measured the pipe it attaches to but I'm not with the car right now. I believe the toyota p/n is 16268-74163 for the pipe but I do not know the p/n of the hose. Which leads me to my second question. Does anybody know the p/n of the hose?

replace the leaky hose?

OEM should be the way to go if hose is pre-shaped/pre-formed.

you can check your part numbers at:

or at one of dealer websites:
