3rd Generation DIY: seafoam a 96 Toyota camry V6

Hello, I've done a lot of research of how to seafoam a car. Although I did find some information.. I didn't really find a detailed explanation of how to do a V6. (maybe I didn't search well enough ^__^)

Anyway, I decided to do a video of how to seafoam a camry. There are different ways to do it, how to/ where to pour it. Also, they are many outcomes of this product, seafoam. I suggest you find more information before you proceed to seafoam your camry.

I also want to add that neither I or toyotanation are responsible of the outcome (if a bad one) or any damages they may occur by adding seafoam. READ the seafoam container carefully and throughly before you go ahead and put it in your vehicle.

In addition, there are people who put more or less of seafoam. I went with what the instructions of the container, which were: 1/3 in the oil compartment, break boost/ vacuum hose and the gas tank..

Hope this video will make you understand or teach you how to put seafoam on the vehicle. They might be a lot of threads about this, but it doesn't hurt doing another one ^___^

Thanks for the DIY.

I had no idea seafoam gets mixed with the oil too...does it stay in there until the next normal oil change? I wonder how that compares to something someone else recommended, risolone.

I usually drive the car pretty hard for about 15 minutes after seafoaming then go home and change the oil.
Good video, btw.

I used the same point of entry (brake booster hose)

though, I shut it down right after that. then on shut off car I add it to oil filler and tank (1/3 for each one out of three mentioned), then I restart it after 15 minutes... I had TONS of white smoke on both cars ... and man I mean TONS, like it became an 18th century London fog during the sunny NJ day

I usually have to take the car to nearby highway and floor it on the ramp to release all the white smoke, then I drive it for 100 miles (with no destination) on highways and change the oil+filter.

good video though, shows all 3 points of entry well

Thanks guys! And you change the oil if it's time. From what I read
On the container (yes, I read instructions) if you barely changed your oil..
Then you can change it "MINIMUM 100 miles & MAXIMUM 3,000 miles"
It depends on what you want to do, and feel like doing

^ hehe, that's closer to what I usually see. my 1mz-fe however blew 10 times more smoke LOL! I bet it was dirty like hell from running with broken AFR sensor circuit for 2 years... hence the amount of carbon getting burned off.

yup, there is some controversy about oil interval with sea foam in crank case. I stick to MIN levels as I am always afraid to destroy some gaskets and I hate fixing them.
however some people here did the full OCI with sea foam in oil with no adverse effects, so I guess it's all right either way

Oh and YES! There is a lot of smoke!!!!! As described on top! Lol
I did the video on my friends house, but when I was driving home...
Well, all I saw was people driving next to me with a angry face..
I realized I was throwing a lot of the white smoke.. So I rolled up my
Windows and smiled .. And waved to those grouchy people.. Lol

Did anyone else pick up on all the engine noise (tapping/clicking) on shyshadows car??
Seemed a bit excessive,.....maybe a valve adjustment is in order??
Maybe it's just me??

The camera may just be making the noise more audible, sounds normal to me.

digital camera's mics usually pick up and intensify the noises you can't normally hear. I wouldn't be alarmed by that.

my both cars' engines tick like diesel on videos/audios too, may seem excessive, but it actually sounds normal in real life.
