My broken car =(

I'm new to the whole forum thing, but I was wondering if anyone on here could answer a question for me? My car is a 94, it has quite a few miles on it but I really can't afford a car payment so I would like to keep it as long as possible. Today I noticed there was a piece of metal hanging from underneath, shaped like a flat crow bar kind of? Then my car over heated =( any ideas of what it might be?

that doesn't sound like overheating was related to that knocked off hanging part (suspension item?)

by all means, take a pic or two and upload them to photobucket or imageshack.us and then post direct links to them here (use the Image Insert button when editing a post).

i think the piece hanging down and the overheating might be unrelated. what happened when you over heated? were you driving, stopped in traffic, just noticed the temperature gauge go up, motor shut off, leaking coolant under the car? give a little background info if you can be so kind.

Thank you so much but I found the problem. My radiator went and that thingy hanging was a gas tank strap? The radiator was under warranty
