e-brake light came on after flooring the wagon...?

So... one if my new buddies was tiding with me and was asking if my wagon was fast... so I floored it to show him(first time in forever since all my mounts are shot) . After It shifted to second at about 6k... the red e-brake light came on. I pulled the e-brake release to see if somehow I pushed it in...it was still on. Then I pushed my regular brake pedal... still on. Then I pressed the gas ... and it went off.

The swag wag still drives fine. Just wondering what caused it or if anyone has ever seen this before. Should I check anything? I really don't want to replace anything as I really need to get the coupe running and I still need to replace the inner tie rod on the wagon.

Thanks guys.

Jonathan.

Check your brake fluid? Mine came on, but that's because I had a leak.... Does OBDII check for a sticking caliper? If so that might be your issue.

Try checking the level of your brake fluid. I remember there was time when my brake fluid was at a certain level where accelerating, decelerating, and even the grade of hill would briefly trigger the brake light, and filling up a bit solved it.

hope this helps

Ill check the fluid when I get home. My brakes have made this noise ever since Kauffman Tire did my brakes. (Before I knew anything)
Its only when I say... pull into a parking spot. Then when I pull out, when I press the brakes, it sounds pike clanking metal. KAUFFMAN SUCKS! What could that be? It does sound like its coming from the front right.

I would defiantly check your fluid. Mine made a hellish sound right before a pin hole leak became a massive hole. Does sound like a caliper or piston issue to me. Do you ever hear a low volume noise when your driving, that gets faster the faster you go?

I think the contact points on the brake pads need to be lubed, as well as the shims.

Oops- I never noticed any. Ill check when I go to work tomorrow.

And I will redo the brakes(complete overhaul) once the coupe is up and running. On both of them.
