4th Generation engine shaking when putting it into gear 2000 2.2 Camry

I have a 2000 camry 2.2L.

Did not have any issue with it till today.
Drove back from work, and parked it.

Started it, no prob.

Put it in gear and it feels it is not getting enough air. Or the engine is shaking.
If it is in Neutral, it is fine.
I know that the mounts are fine.

Any idea guys n gals?

Thanks.

What is your maintenance record? ... Air filter ok? ... miles on engine?
... miles since tune-up/spark plugs?

Sounds like inefficient combustion ... cylinders firing but not really generating mechanical power. Could be too rich, could be too lean.

Take it to part store and get diagnostic trouble codes checked.

You will have to provide a little more information ... one or two more details.

Q: what is it idling at?
A: 800RMP - same as always
Don't know about the reset question.

Q: What is your maintenance record?
A: Oil change every 3000miles. I do it myself.

Q: ... Air filter ok? ... miles on engine?
... miles since tune-up/spark plugs?
A: Air filter is OK. 211,000 miles on the engine. Never hit over 4.5k RPM.
Spark plugss and cables... Approximately 50k. About time huh? But it that would to cause issue, it would misfire or shake during idle too rite?

Q: Sounds like inefficient combustion ... cylinders firing but not really generating mechanical power. Could be too rich, could be too lean.
A: ahhh? Does that not occuring during idling?

Q: Take it to part store and get diagnostic trouble codes checked.
A: No codes or CEL

Thanks for your help all

800 RMPs ... no CEL codes .... a real mystery.

Is it possible that the timing belt could have jumped a notch or two out of place?

When was the timing belt last replaced?

Timing belt is over 80k miles. I checked it two weeks ago and it looks new. No cracks, discoloration nor rubbing. However, that is something that is on my todo list other than the water pump.

Would a jumped timing belt cause issue when it is only in D or R (in gear).
I will go check if there is some slack in the belt tension.

TIA

Checked the timing belt. It looks snuggy and tight.

I also took off the air filter to have more air / breathing properly. Nope. No luck as it was still shaking.

... Sounds like something is being overlooked ....

Can you look around for any vacuum hoses ... You should check the ends of the rubber hoses where they attach to a port or something. The hoses should be tight, and not pull off easily. Sometimes, after the hose ends warm up, they will expand enough to allow a vacuum leak.

This is often a cause of problems similar to yours.

... Another method for detecting loose vacuum hoses is to get a spray can of starter fluid ... ether ... and carefully spray the suspected leaking hose ends while the engine is idling ... in park. If there is a vacuum leak, you will hear a change in rpm. ... Probably keep the starter fluid away from the alternator ... it is extremely flammable.

Just got a CEL
Pulled 2 codes.

P0300 and
P0302

Seems like it is misfiring.

I just got new spark plug wires and plugs. Will put it in later tonight

Pulled spark plugs and apparent #1 is flooded with oil.
I changed the plug and all the wires.

Funny thing is P0302 error is a misfire in tube #2.

There is a nut and a grommet at for each spark plug.
This seem to be a likely source for the oil leak in #1 cylinder.

What do the spark plugs look like?
Normal spark plug has light brown color .... should be relatively clean looking.
Any oil or buildup on the plugs?
