3rd Generation stock 96 Camry LE... brake pad recommendations??

96 Camry LE i-4 with 160k miles, all STOCK

Will be replacing the brake pads/shoes... what is the general consensus on the best pads for stock rotors? Should I go Ceramic? I heard that some pads will eat the rotors...don't want that to happen.

I was considering these Duralast Gold ceramic pads from Autozone for $29.99 for 2 pairs (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...529505_0_3773_)

I hear great things about the Wagner ThermoQuiet QC562 pads (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0068&ppt=C0009) but don't really feel like spending the money.

As for the rear brake shoes, I'll probably just go for these cheap Duralast shoes for $16.99 (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...4_180175_2158_). However, I feel like the price is kinda cheap...and I'm not the kind of person to cheap out on something as vital as brakes.

Thanks for the help!

Front pads definitely Akebono ProAct ceramic with Centric C-tek rotors (or Centric Premium with powder coated hubs). But Bendix or Wagner should do too for the rear.

Well, I ended up buying a set of ceramic Duralast Golds at Autozone for $29.99. Seemed like a good middle ground in terms of price and performance.

How much are OE's? And are they ceramic or semi-metallic?
