I'd use
Mobil-1 Fully Synthetic ATF that's good for Dexron II/III type applications at AAP. They have the ~42% off coupon code if you spend like $60.
Dexron VI is a thin fluid that's better for today's partial lock-up converter and GM's clutch-to-clutch design. But I
personally would use a thicker fluid in older transmissions. That said, many TN members used Valvoline's MaxLife ATF and said it worked well. The MaxLife is a Dexron-VI thin, fully synthetic ATF.
Castrol Dexron VI is a synthetic blend. I personally put Valvoline's fully syn Dexron-VI (not MaxLife) in GM's excellent Hydramatic transmissions. Since Dexron-VI is a tight spec like Mercon-V, any brand (including Walmart's Supertech) should work in a Dexron III system. I would just use a thicker fluid like Mobil-1 in your case.
