Interstate is made by Johnson Controls Inc (JCI). It's an excellent battery. JCI also makes the Autozone Duralast/Gold batteries. Autozones are all over, and for warranty needs if you're on the raod just can't beat it.

AC Delco is getting harder to find, which means it may be harder to replace on a road trip than Durlasts. Otherwise I'd prefer the AC Delco maintenance free battery. I think it's an excellent battery and the old ones I'd seen just about don't vent any acid vapor out the caps. Can't beat the 50-month free replacement period for the 7-year top line. many others are up to 3-year free replacement. Some of the cheaper ones look like they have the JCI caps. So I'm not sure how much of Delco is still the original Delco.

I wouldn't touch Exide batteries. I think NAPA sells these. The JCIs have caps with cut corners. Others have said the Exide ones have round corners.

I prefer Duralast Gold (have 24F-DLG on 5s-fe), way more cold cranking amps than any other Interstate or OEM.

although I have an Advance Auto Parts Gold 24F, less cranking amps than Dualast Gold, on 1mz-fe, I can't complain, it works fine, but it feels weaker than Dualist Gold.

Interstate Mega-tron shows 800CCA, and Duralast Gold is 750CCA. I just put in a Toyota TrueStart in the 07, but that has 575CCA.

maybe I will switch to megatrons (sounds cool by the way hehe) next time I need a battery ... especially that I have no warranty on 1mz-fe's AAP Gold battery at all. 800 CCA sounds like beyond good & reliable to me

OEM ones are nowhere near that...

Ditto on the Duralast Gold (Autozone) for reliability,...warranty,...and ease of replacement if necessary.
I'm not sure you would be able to see a huge difference on the extra 50 CCA on the Megatron. But that doesn't mean the Megatron isn't a really good battery.

Yeah, I will too for my 99, I went with the TrueStart for the 07 because I needed it asap, and it was pretty cheap, $90, and its made by Interstate.

Toyota True Start batteries are excellent. i have had nothing but 8 years of good luck with one. Optima would be another excellent choice. i have not had great results with Interstate batteries. not to say they are not good batteries, i'm just saying that the two that i've had have not been all that great.
