problem with 3rd gen camry radio..

hi guys ..not sure if this has been posted/submitted/resolved anywhere else in here ..i mainly registered on here to get some help/advice from fellow yota lovers

ok..so heres the issue ..turn the car on, and radio will come on with it ..sometimes ..it looked like there was an aftermarket in there at one time because part of the trim around the radio was not put back in properly so i figured maybe just a simple rewiring issue ..no luck, i took it all out ..its all factory ..fuses are good ..battery is good ..all other electronics work just fine ..power antenna is broken but i dont think that should have anything to do with it ..but the radio will come on ..then the display fades out ..i have only managed the radio and speakers to work for about 2 minutes ..now the screen will come on and off but no speakers ..i know this sounds confusing ..but help is greatly appreciated

The black wire from the antenna to the radio provides the signal. It may be loose or broken.

Lose that radio and get one from BestBuy. $70 gets you a Sony cd/mp3/removable faceplate player. Installation is $38,...the installation kit with wires was $44. 1/2 hour later,....your radio is in and working perfectly. Looks great too!!!
Plus you never have to worry about security codes if your battery dies/gets disconnected on you ever again. If you want to put it in yourself,....you can save $38,....but for me,...it was worth it. I walked around the mall for a little while and they called me when it was done. Plus,.....it was all under warranty for 2 years!!!!!!

$44 for the installation kit PLUS $38 for installation? Yikes! The only part you need from the kit is the wiring connector, can be had at walmart for under $10 or online cheaper. Installation is a breeze with the wiring connectors. Splice color to color on the radio, then put the brackets on and bolt it all back together!

Sorry,....typo,....$14 for the kit. You will need the insert for some radios. Otherwise there will be a gap around the radio and it looks shitty and collects dust. Especially if you have the double decker system without the storage door underneath the radio.
Sounds like he could do it himself without a problem,.....but for me,.....$38 wasn't gonna break the bank and I bought the radio/kit and it was done in a half hour with a 2 year warranty. Anything goes wrong,...I don't have to deal with it,..they replace it free of charge including labor.
