Hope ok to post this. If you are considering struts and are ok with Monroe's they have a rebate going through Oct. I bought a pair of Monroe rear ready struts for my '98 camry from RockAuto $252 with the shipping and 5% forum discount. There is a $50 rebate which gets them down to $100 a side. I'll never break another strut down after installing these.
Just my 2 cents,....
I replaced all my struts with Monroe Sensa-Trac assemblys about 1000 miles ago. I hope they break in better than they have. They are pretty damn stiff if you ask me. Yes, my Cam handles beautiful (hardly any body roll),....but I hope the ride eases up a bit after some more miles.
Geesh!!!
yeah, they mellow in over time, some say it takes like 5k miles though hehe depending on roads.
Mine are kinda stiff yet too on wife's car (only around 1k miles), much better on V6 though (4k miles or so).
I did fronts only.

Thanks Fen!!
I'm glad it's just not me! I don't drive this car very often so it may take me quite some time to break these babys in. I've only put 1000k on it since April when I got the car from my Grandmother. She took great care of it so it deserved a little "tlc" to keep it nice and in top shape!! It will eventually go to one of my nieces or nephew when they are of age to drive,......if I ever have the heart to let this beauty go!
which monroe strut model are you referring to? the only strut i see (sensa trac) that they have rebate is for ATP cabin air filter.

I thought the same as you when I clicked on the Promotions and Rebates. There is a scroll bar clear to the right that will show all the current rebates on the RockAuto home page.
Here is the link direct from Monroe for the form
I put 4 new KYBs on my Avy a few months ago. My wife normally drives it, so when I do once a week or so, I really notice the ride changing as they're breaking in. They were very harsh at first, but now with 6k miles on 'em they're smooth as buttah!

1996 Avalon XLS, ABS brakes, moonroof, white, acquired w/ 139k miles, now at 261k.
2001 Yamaha FZ1, Ivan's jet kit, resprung all around, Ohlins in the rear, Race Tech cartridge emulators in the forks, 45k miles.
I put Monroe SensaTracs on all four corners of the car in late 2008 and then last year replaced the springs with DZ 2" lowering springs - this really stiffened the ride and made it pretty harsh, but handling improved by a good bit. Body roll was still there, but after the Whiteline RSB this decreased considerably.
Now, after 60k+ miles of driving hard on the Monroes, I took them off over the weekend and all four of them still have great rebound and function perfectly. I have to hand it to Monroe - they sell a good product since my car has been literally abused and just keeps going, even with the state of the roads around here. Bought new strut mounts as well with these and they show no signs of wear as well.
I will be selling them in the FOR SALE section and I'll include the purchase receipt if anyone's interested - springs are included. Will be letting them go for cheap...
Really liked the Monroes but the BCs are more what I'm after performance-wise.

Monroe does seem to make good products, I have their front mounts installed and with my lowering springs(1.7") and kyb struts they take a beating, and they're still extremely quiet.
so far I found only 3 minor annoyances with Monroe QuickStruts, one minor and other so far minor but may become a problem in future (climate dependent, sometimes I hate marine climate...)
as far as I love the easiness of installing the quick strut assemblies those little "features" annoy me:
a) strut mount nuts are sometimes 14mm and other times 15mm, extremely annoying, I need to pick up a set of OEM nuts for 1 mount as I am annoyed with socket mismatch and searching for a 15mm socket to unbolt the strut brace
b) coil springs seem to pick up some surface rust. hopefully it will stay only on surface and will not eat through them over time (and break them eventually), I will probably go with lowering springs before that happens though hehe
c) front strut mount bearings seem to be noisy a bit (old or not enough grease on balls?), not much in my case, but some members reported extreme ear-bleeding noise, mine are just humming when cornering in the parking lot; some rare times they can even cause a "thump", nothing serious, but hey it shouldn't be there.
d) none, struts feel fine and I like them, other assembly parts are doing its job and working as designed perfect choice for the price
