Would these tires fit?

Let me first off by saying I don't understand how those calculators work, I'm just going off by what's stock compared to the new tire size lol.

I believe the stuck I4 size (and what I have right now)is:

195/70R14

I found what I think are a great set of wheels, but unfortunately, 17 inches. Some reason in my area there's never really 15-16 inch wheels.

215/50/17

+40

So from what I can gather, the tires width is a lot bigger, and I think it's gonna rub, right? I would need spacers?

But the height from the sidewall to the tire is smaller, though I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

So basically, if I want to fit these tires on the GEN4 I4 Camry LE, what would I need? If I need spacers...how much are they in general (according to the width I'd need for these wheels)?

I checked on a calculator, the Diameter Difference is: 2.83%...have no idea what this means in terms of rubbing.

Also, if I need any more info, gimme a heads up.

The biggest issue is this: how wide are the rims themselves?

Right now on my '96 V6 LE sedan I run 215/55R16s on a set of 16"x6.5" steelies off of a 2007 Camry with no rub. Before that I had 215/60R15s on the stock 15"x6" steelies, also with no rub. Neither of these setups use(d) spacers. If I'm remembering correctly the widest wheel a Gen3 can fit stock is 7 inches, its possible that the Gen4s are the same but please wait for somebody else to come in and back me up (or correct me) on the info I've given you here.

The rims are 7" wide I believe.

The man told me:

T517 (rim model)

17X7

ET 40

If anyone can give input so I don't pass this deal up <_<

on a 17", I would go 45 on the tire.
50 will work, but I'm not sure if you'll get any rubbing when turning in...

That's what I'm trying to find out. Seems like it will fit but the rear might rub on the struts when I'm turning.

I don't know if I should take my chance (they're coming with the 215/50 tires...can't change that) or just keep looking.

Thanks.

just buy a 45 tire. Don't use a spacer. Besides, 50 is borderline pushing it on a 17.

Well I mean if I was to buy the tires for the wheels and have it switched out and everything, I could just buy a new pair of wheels and tires. This one's on CL lol. Trying to stay under $400.

Maybe I'll keep looking. So if I'm going for 17 inches, I'm wanting 215 (or lower, right?) and 45.

What if I buy the rims and tires, and have a shop install some new tires that are 215/45...will it be hard to find someone to buy the old tires? They have about 1/3rd tread left.

well, probably it doesn't help at all, but I had 225/55 on 16'' factory option Solara rims before. looked wider, but since they were Summer only (and bald) when I acquired the car, I went with all-season Yokohama all around.

17'' could be problematic as I read, but can't really help on that.

Yah my head is spinning right about now because every answer I find is different. It fits, or it fits and it rubs...there doesn't seem to be a general consensus.

Was going to check them out saturday but I don't know right now if I'm wasting my time.
