93-94 camry carnk but doesnt start...please help

i have a 2.2L 93 camry with a 2.2 94 camry engine. i swap just the enigne only the 93 wire harness is with the 94 engine...tried to start it...it carnk but it doesnt start...check the spark plug and smelt fuel...so from what i can tell it must be some electrical problem but i dont know for sure...im thinking it could be the ecu because im using the 93 ecu...could someone help me please and thank you

Does it start with starting fluid (don't put too much in - rinses oil off cylinder walls = bad)? If so, you got spark. If not, check ignition fuse...and follow the line....primary side of the ign coil, secondary side, then igniter, and also your distributors/rotor/caps and plug wires.

If ignition checks out, check your fuel pressure and EFI fuse.

Any check engine light? If so, read the code by shorting TE1/E1 pins.

prior to the engine swap the 94 engine started just fine...the engine sat for about 3-4 months...did the swap using all original parts from the 93(wire harness; ecu) the only difference is the engine..which is a 94...since the engine is a 94 and the ecu is a 93 will the ecu be a problem?
