The day after I brought it home.

The way it sits now.

Favorite Mod: Tein S-Techs/Tokico HPs ( Handles better, no more of that squeak while driving )
Compliment: A lot of work can be seen. Very clean and loving that TRD Gracia front bumper.

Is that black side trim along the lower half of the car stock? I've never seen a Gen 4 with black trim along the sides

DayuMn!! there's a lot to LIKE on this thread!!

xpeed: LOL! when you got that car, you mentioned something about not putting too much work into it, just to get it running like a champ and ya.. now yr on a steady pace of modding and have gone far enough into it to turn back!.. i like this! .. About yr car, most definitely the raked stance of yr drop springs.. awesome!

Ahil: "Aging gracefully" is to say the least, its actually getting better and better as long as its in yr hands! Wheels have got to be the part on yr car that does it for me.. i dig those bolder star patterned wheels! Also, you're always on here giving thanks to people who puts up pictures and I appreciate that because of the effort and thoughts we go through to make something happen. So here's an all out Thank You for being a supportive member to all of us

Parkc: LOL! you my dude, should plan out what you wanna do.. if yr unsure- its okay. But if yr sure all the time.. it'll save you a lot of TIME, MONEY, and HEADACHES because you'll only do it once and it'll satisfy you for the long haul. W/yr car.. all i can see are wheels and tint, but im a meshie type of guy soo wheels it is!!

Happy Modding to you all!

Yeah....about that statement. Haha. Well, I only have three more things to do on my list before I considered it "finished" in modding it.

1.) Still got to get rims for it.
2.) A new paint job.
3.) New exhaust/headers

That's about the only major thing that I want to do. Other minor things are new corner lights and such. Definitely need new bumpers though. Previous owners did such a horrible job I feel a little embarrassed in it but that all fades once I start reaching 4k rpms. =]

This is before I lowered the car last year on the DropZone 2" springs (foreground) and also before more serious mods went on the car. I had about 225 lbs of weight reduction at this point - that's why the car looks odd riding so high...Ended up not liking those Motegi knock-off rims either at 18 lbs each...

Taken just last week with the coilovers (thanks again), Whiteline RSB, and 200 more pounds of weight ditched from the car. Not a lot faster than it was last year but the handling is light-years better! Seems to stop a great deal quicker as well with the decreased nose-dive effect when braking...

Favorite mod would have to be 1MZ 60mm throttle body - this helps WOT power after 4500RPM and stays until about 5600 RPM or so. Doesn't affect the lower-RPM ranges at all - quickens throttle response and doesn't affect gas mileage one iota. It's the best $45 I've spent on this car (with many thanks to friends who let me use their TIG setup)

xpeed: I like the dark wheels and dark tint look on yours with the lighter-colored paint - I would take mine down another 1" or so but the roads around here won't let me without changing out suspension parts every 6 months! The new exhaust/headers you are wanting to get will really open up your mid and upper RPM ranges - it will be a night and day difference! Enjoy! Keep up the good work!

Yup, standard from factory. It comes stock for some models on the Australian market (Although, i do have plans to remove it completely to clean up the looks. The higher spec models have painted versions of the trim)

4th Generation

October 2005 (Maybe a week or so after I bought it)

2011

(Surprised I don't have an updated side picture for comparison. I'll have to wash it and take one sometime soon!!!)

Favorite mod: 5 Speed swap. Brought the car to life.

Above(N/A Camry Sleeper): I love how clean and slick the car looks. You could never guess there was so much weight taken out of it. I remember your thread about OCD weight reduction and I love it. Sick! (P.S. Ever look into how much the titanium?(i think it was) control arms would be?)

Titanium control arms would be ridiculous - but aluminum ones if built correctly would be possible. Ever been behind a Buick Rendezvous SUV? Their rear control arms are cast aluminum - if GM can do it on a heavy gas hog like that, then it's also possible with a Camry. Need to take some sandcasting classes at the local community college and then it would become a reality!

LOL!- they don't like what i'm doing around here w/this car bcus its pretty much classified in the same category as a toaster or a coffee maker aka an appliance. These cars come dime a dozen here, especially since my area is majority of Asian descent. They love love this car for picking up kids, groceries, etc. (which i do on a daily basis!)

Truthfully.. I go to meets/events on my own- i get laughed at and questioned when i go to some shops, or even turned away because they can't/wont help me bring a part over from japan when they just spent 45mins. talking to the guy w/a 240 trying to bring over an S15 kouki front.

Hence why i started this thread- .. i just really wanted to know that i'm not the only one left doing this bcus i've tried to hang it up so many times.

Happy Modding.
