okay most of you guys know im restoring a 92 camry 5sfe that has been sitting around for over 3 years. well my speedo wasnt working right, like 75% of my lights blew out, then the rpms were at like 200 when i was clearly way above that. well today i picked up a used cluster from the junkyard today. few things.
now i pulled it from a 95 -96 5sfe camry le. with 175,xxx miles. My camry has about 212,869 miles. there's no way to fix that right?

also the rpms and lights work perfect now, i idle at 700-800 like i knew it should.

BUT the airbag light came on, it happened on the old cluster before i pulled it out, so i will be checking fuses and relays but what are your guys thoughts about this?
also its pretty much all the exactly the same, i still havent tested it for the speed accuracy but im sure its good. (the old one didnt even move)

so could i get some help on how to change the mileage without it messing up and not moving the odo at all! so thanks again TN you Life savers ;]

The airbag light is on because you turned the car on with a bad SRS bulb, or the car was turned on without the cluster connected properly. Do a search for airbag light on how to reset it (it can be difficult). Also see this thread.

Did the speedometer work properly in the old cluster? If so, you can just swap it over to the new one. If not, the odometer itself can be swapped between the units, if you are careful. It takes a lot of patience, and you will have to calibrate the speedo afterwards because you have to remove the needle.

Thanks for the light reset, i will do so very soon maybe in a bit.

No the old speedo didnt work, so i guess i can try to swap the odo over,
I know how to reset the needles so thats not much of a problem, either way i just wanted to know if i could just tamper with the thing, or just swap over but i guess the swap is more practical! thanks 71

ok i took off the ODO from the original one, how do i just get the odometer off? Or do i havee to use the speedo from the old one? Im not sure it was working...
