4th Generation Having some trouble/difficulties replacing stock battery wires/cables

so I replaced my ground (chassis and engine) wiring fine, but I'm having difficulty with the positive/red lead.

It looks like it snakes all over the place sort of, but I can't really tell because it goes into some other cable bundles it looks like.

for what it's worth, I have a '00 Camry LE, 5S-FE. I did the ground fine myself but I'm kind of nervous about taking off the positive line because I can't tell where all it goes.

anyone have a map or diagram or something of the lines?

Thanks a lot!

p.s.: I already have all the stuff I need to do the job, by the way.

top (by battery terminals) portion of positive wires are actually fusible links (originals on my car are Yamazaki FL1.25) and are joined, I believe with crimp connectors, with the main harness wiring which goes toward the main fuse box (from there it goes around the engine bay, fans, fuse boxes, AC, alternator, lamps, fogs and such).

what you need to do is to remove the battery and the air box. then remove the insulation material (could be the plastic tube or electrical tape or so) from positive wires until you find where they interconnect with main wires, they will look weird at that spot, like broken or bent, because there is a crimp connector there. there will be heatshrink wrap over the connection point on each of wires.

It will be before reaching the main fuse box for sure. the junction could be actually at the plastic arm where they are all attached to. this is the point from where the starter positive wire goes to starter assembly.

I can look for a pic to show, you, I replaced one section of positive wire before (leaving old terminal which I re-used). should have a pic or two.

EDIT:
here's a thread with some pics where I was working on it (old harness of my V6, replaced it eventually):
1mzfe / A541E @ 122k miles, p0500, p1135, p1155

it seems the connection you need to replace the positive terminals, is no farther than 5-6 inches from the terminal.

if your battery positive wiring kit is longer than that, maybe you should replace them all at the fuse box? it's a bit a pain in the arse to remove fuse box, all wiring is tight under it, need to peel the fender liner off, detach some clips and such.

thanks a lot man! I apologize for being so late (like 60+ days ) responding, but I'm finally back at it again!

so do I need to replace both of those wires you've got in those photos?

also, is there some way I can disconnect the main fuse box completely? my wires underneath it are pretty short. i unbolted the main fuse box from the side so I could get to the bottom, but the wires seem pretty short, too short to lift the box up much, but under there it's a whole huge bundle of cables in different groups.

any advice?

hey, I think you need only to replace terminal end wires that end with terminals (holding them in my palm) on one side and fusible links (circled green in my first pic) on other side that interconnect them to the rest of wiring.

not sure if you have also a replacement wire for the starter in your kit?
the rest stays as is, no need to unbolt the main fuse box unless you want to fix something under or in it.

if you want to lift up the main fuse box however than prepare to unbolt the FD wheel and head lamp (and maybe front bumper as well), as you will need to unclip the wiring harness from like a dozen of places including some clips covered by fender liner (black plastic sheet in the wheel well).
