Crank Shaft

Hey folks I haven't posted here in a long time, I had found that my 2.2 camry had spun a bearing on the crank and had scared the crank shaft pretty bad.
I have been unable to find a motor I could afford or find a place local that I could have the crank reground.
My question is, does anyone have a crankshaft out of a spare motor that they could part with?

If you get a used crankshaft, you need to have bearings that match it. so you will need to mic the used crank and make sure the bearings are going to work with it.

How much are the engines your looking at?

I don't have a problem checking the clearances or micing and then ordering oversized bearing if need be.

The engines that I have see are between 500-1000 then you add shipping and that puts it more than the car is worth.

I'm just wondering.....Why don't you take the crank to an engine shop and have them grind it and give you correct bearings to match ?......I googled and saw 4 places in Columbus on first page of search......just wondering ?

I actually have an email and phone calls out to a couple of the local engine shops, but figured it wouldn't hurt to see what else may be available.

I have spent a lot of time at the pick and pull for my truck and my wifes sebring but I haven't had much luck finding parts there for the toyota.

Oh and I can get motors for ford and GM all day long in the 200-300 price range but for some reason toyota motors are going for quite a bit more.

I just built one of these engines, I typically get used ones out of the yards around here for $500-$750 if I get the pre 97 style and retrofit the cam sensor, or 1k for a cam sensor engine with 100k on it. I planned on keeping this car so i rebuilt it to be all new,

$856 for machine shop to recondition the rods with new bolts, grind the crank, shot peen the stock pistons, mill the head, complete valve job, set lifter clearance and get rods, mains, rings and full gasket kit

$272 for a new oil pump, complete timing set and pump and pulleys, plugs, wires, air and fuel filter, pcv etc.

Built it myself, runs like a top, $1200 ish with fluids and miscellaneous, in hind sight I should have bored it, and I cleaned all my parts and what not myself, didnt even take the block in.
