Gen 3 Camry V6 Knock Sensor trick

I have searched and only found the references to the GM knock sensor being used externally for the V6. I can disconnect the sensors prior to going into the intake cavity. The only drawback, is there are 2 sensors, 4 wires and only 1 wire wanted for a single sensor. There are 2 clear for the sensors and 2 brown. If I disconnect here, have jumped them under the glove box, what do I do with the brown wires? Is it better to jump them here and take it off the ECM?

I have checked OHMs from the end points of the connectors and it reads fine. No breaks and no shorts. I am not so sure about the pigtail going into the engine, what should it read? It is wide open on both sensors but I am only getting one code. This may be my only choice short of a tare down.
