3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
+1 on Rockauto. I've bought from them quite a bit without a prob. Watch the shipping costs on heavy stuff, like axles. Often it's just as cheap buying locally after adding in the shipping cost.

Rockauto and amazon. I've bought a LOT of stuff from amazon due to free shipping for most items (make sure it says saver shipping). This is very important due to me living in Hawaii. Gotta love free shipping for a radiator.
I've got to purchase 2 axles, an egr temp sensor and vacuum solenoid, and I was wondering the best place to buy them online?
Why would you want to buy auto parts online? When it comes time for a warranty on that part, it could be many days or even weeks that your vehicle is out of service while waiting for the replacement/warranty part to arrive. Whereas with a local auto parts store you'd have the replacement/warranty part the very same day, all while supporting your local economy and local jobs. Also, with buying auto parts online there's the very real possibility that the incorrect part could be supplied and then you have to wait and wait to ship the incorrect part back and then the correct part shipped back to you. Doing business with a local auto parts store instead, this greatly reduces the likelihood of being supplied the incorrect part. There are many advantages buying auto parts locally.

You make a great point and thats why anything thats re-manufactured or has a lifetime warranty should be bought instore.
However, things that are disposable and wear items and have no warranty should be bought online. Better prices and better items. Ive saved hunreds of dollars like this.
Its more likely to get the wrong part at the parts counter then online. Online catalogs are almost bulletproof, at least on their end.
Rockauto has been rock solid. I ordered the wrong part and they overnighted me the right part. Knocked on my door at 9am took the wrong part and gave me the right one. Great service.

In terms of eBay I've purchased countless items from this seller and always have been very pleased with every aspect. Quality, pricing, communication, packaging and delivery (2-3 business days). The seller has near 100% satisfaction with over 800,000 transactions, and everything usually comes with a warranty.
Please note I am not affiliated with this seller/company in any way. Just want to pass along a reliable alternative for anyone wanting good parts at a great price.
+1 for rockauto!
Don't listen to Mr Local parts guy,.....the items you need can be looked up at the online catalog,......or call in your order while your on the computer to confirm you are getting the right part. Let's face it, most parts are limited lifetime warranty and when you change that part you'll most likely either drive the car till it dies,....or sell it before the part fails you.
You can save huge with online orders. Local chain store auto part places have high schoolers that give you the wrong stuff 1/2 the time and the cost is much higher!!!
Do your homework!! And listen to all of us who agree with each other,.....we've all been there,....done that,......

I've purchased a few things from them too. No big probs. I got a window regulator for my Avy that was wired backwards; window moved opposite direction of what it should. No biggie, just cut & swapped the wires at the motor. Problem solved. I mentioned it in my eBay feedback to them, and they gave me a $15 rebate.

well ... as per axles, I read terrible reviews on most of aftermarket ones, both new and OEM refurbs ... so maybe it would be a good idea to get new OEM axles from online dealer?
probably a pricey solution, but it doesn't hurt to PM our member TOYOPARTSMAN to get a quote.
Name of the guy is Gary Smith, Parts Manager over at Toyota dealer in Newnan, Georgia. bought dozens of items from him (a well as other online OEM dealers including those on ebay some time ago).
