1993 V6 BAD Oil Leak

Ok, so my friend was driving home last night, the engine lugged a little once, she kept going and it stated doing the same, then cut off and won't start. Oil's leaking pretty badly around the oil filter from the look of it (front, passenger side) but spraying up a little. Again, it's not cranking so I can't really tell where it's coming from, just that it's leaking down A LOT and spraying up some. I've got a decent mechanical background so I'm not afraid of looking into it if you guys any suggestions. Also, and engine diagram would be great, I can't find one anywhere online. Thanks for any help you can give.

Maybe yer engine's frozen up? Have you manually cranked the motor over with a socket/breaker bar?

How many miles do you have on the engine? Got any piccies of the oil leak?

Does "not cranking" mean the starter won't turn the engine over?

As for the oil leak, I suspect it's not related to the no start. I have two thoughts as to why it's leaking.

1) Was the oil changed recently?... I've had oil spray out when I wound up with two filter gaskets under the filter; the old one stuck in place and I didn't notice, so when I screwed the new one on, it ended up with two.

2) The oil filter is mounted on an adaptor that relocates the filter out of the way of the front exhaust manifold. It has an o-ring between it and the block that can leak.

If its not cranking its seized, aka garbage.

Fill it up with some used oil to the brim (couple gallons worth) let it sit and try to break it free by using a breaker bar on the drank bolt. It might work for a couple more miles if it works.

Ok, my bad on the wording there guys, by "not cranking" I meant not idling. It'll turn over and sounds like it's gonna start right up, but no dice. I'm not familiar with oil problems, but I'm guessing t. It's got about 223,000 miles on it (she's a fighter!) and the last oil change was the second week of August. Since then it's had about 2,300-2,500 put on it. BMR, I'm leaning towards the adaptor too, I've seen several complaints with the same symptoms and nine times out of ten it's that adaptor gasket. The engine's pretty mucked up on the lower end now so I'll get some pics if i can, but i couldn't even tell what was leaking last time. Thanks for the ideas, and I'll be back with more soon.

So the starter is turning the engine over, but it won't start? If yes, could be the timing belt has broken. This engine is non-interference, so if that's what it is, no harm has been done.

Try this for a service manual. http://www.**********s.com/camry/ It might have the diagram for which you are looking.
