Raw gas smell tailpipe when cold

My wife started my 98 this weekend to turn it around to vacuum and clean the car this weekend. I was watching her turn it around and noticed a short white smoke trail coming from the tailpipe. I got behind it and could smell the rich gas smell. So I know it's not nothing to bad. But I guess for some reason I'm running really rich at startup. Then temp outside was about 50f-55f.. Is this a sign of some sensor I should change? The rear O2 was changed earlier this year with OEM Denso. And the front looks new also. There is no CEL. And I'm getting about 29-30 mpg on average.

Rich mixture should be dark/black smoke. White smoke with a bluish tint is baked valve stem seals. How's the oil consumption?

It's common on these engines that Toyota updated intake seals to a better material I take it since Toyota jacked up the cylinder head temperature. They should both be viton rubber now, like the Fel-Pro seal set.

Maybe try a bottle of Techron too.

whitish "smoke" it's normal when car is started cold at temps below 60F after some long hours of sitting. usually it's just condensation/moisture.

like above, if there is a bluish tint to it, then it's the valve stem seals most likely.
if car runs really rich (like too rich) then the smoke is black.

in your case I wouldn't worry about it at all.

what oil kind and type are you running in it? full synthetics are sometimes "healing" the morning white puff from exhaust issue.

I got the car in January and I've been mixing it up since. I started with a couple blends, then did a full syn., right now it's just Pennzoil High Mileage 5W30

try 5w-40 if car is burning oil, this should slow it down.
