2000 XLE Sound System Question

Hello Guys,

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to sound systems but I know enough to be able to install Car Stereos on my own and have done Speaker installs in the past on my own on other cars. However I'm starting to discover my newly acquired Camry is a horse of a different color. I recently installed a new stereo in my 2000 XLE that has the JBL 6 Speaker sound system w/Factory Amplifier. I've noticed since I've removed the Factory Stereo that the Sound Quality in my front speakers has dropped since moving to the Stereo that's in it now.

Right now I have bypassed the Factory Amplifier using the wiring harnesses Crutchfield recommended for my car thus I am now using just the rear speakers and the front door speakers. The two mini speakers do not produce sound. I am assuming they are tied straight to the Factory Amp. I've also double checked to make sure that the lines on the harness for the Front speakers are properly wired.

What I am curious about is if any of you have faced this problem and how you went about correcting it? I'm playing around with the idea of shit canning the factory speakers and putting in an Aftermarket set. I've also wondered if it may be worth putting in an Aftermarket Amp in and trying to make the existing speaker system work, or should I just go the full 9 yards and do both.

Also if you are curious which Stereo I used here is the link:

Any information you could give me would be appreciated. Even if it means pointing out forum topics I haven't read through yet. Thanks.

front tweeters are wired in parallel with front speakers. they should work at same time... unless your XLE is wired differently than most Camry/Solara cars.
