3rd Generation Driver window wont roll up straight

I have a 96 camry. and somewhat recently the driver side window when it rolls up would roll up and at an angle, like angling forward, and it would crash into the rubber trim up top. Lately its missing the rubber trim all together and overlapping uptop.

What can i do? I just recently replaced the door wire harness with success and fixed one of the little issues with my windows but i didnt get a chance to look at the window on the inside.

I thought it was a window regulator. But it turns out to be a skinny bar with a cable type thing, and my toyota mechanic friend told me its a nightmare to fix.

What do you guys think?

P.S. thanks for the advice on the harnesses!

Yeah, those cable designs suck.

Maybe double check the tracks and use some silicone spray to lube the tracks. Is there is clamp that holds the glass on the bottom? Make sure that's good too.

That simple little bar and cable thing still works, so that should tell you that the problem is likely with some thing else. It either works or its doesn't. Look for frayed cable/wires, in the mechanism, then see if the bolts that tighten the window to it are loose or missing. After that, it's about looking at your rubber seals and all the other stuff up there that guides the windows into place. Compare dr, side to pass, side if you have to. Theres not alot that can go wrong with this system, just replaced one myself (due to frayed, broken cable ). Toughest part is taking the door panel off and getting to all that stuff.
