Me too transmission suggestion

I did my transmission front seal on my 94 toyota camry. I did the whole thing pulling all the darn engine with transmission together. Fix the front seal of the tranny. Then put it all bavk. Everything work..car fire right up no check engine light but then when I shift to drive the front wheel is not turning at all. Tried reverse same thing. I got the car on jack stand on front. Check my atf level its perfect. I brought the pump body to the transmission shop to replace the seal for me. Any suggestion...

Its auto...the trans is not moving at all. When I shift to drive the idle seems to respond but not moving at all. Reverse seems do the same.

This may not apply to Toyota transmissions but it might be a factor. On GM products when you reinstall the torque coverter you have to push back, then turn until you feel it lock with the stator. I am not sure you could get the bolts tightened on the housing if you did not do this. Are you sure you got the trans shift linkage hooked up properly?

I believe I do. The thing with toyota transmission there are 6 bolt needed to be put on the flywheel against the torque converter so while putting the tranny it needed to turn once in a while to bolt against the flywheel.

Are your axles connected? (stupid question I know) but if they are not fully into the transmission it will not move

The seating of the torque converter is the first thing to check. Unfortunately, it's best done with the transmission off the car. You can verify by measuring the ATF line pressure. If it's 0 then you know the converter is not properly seated.

The main concern about it not properly seated is when you bolted them up it may cause some physical damage.

I think the line pressure port is on the lower driver side facing the wheel well. Since most people don't have an ATF pressure gauge, just slice a segment of 3/8" ID clear PVC hose to the ATF cooler line and see if the fluid flows (or pumps out ATF into a drain pan).
